On a cold and wet January day, I headed out to sunny Dubai to take part in one of the largest healthcare trade shows and medical conferences in the Middle East: Arab Health. The annual event invites healthcare professionals, medical manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors from around the world to showcase the latest innovations in medical technology, healthcare services, and pharmaceuticals.
Arab Health is a critical event for the global healthcare industry, especially in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It helps shape the future of healthcare by introducing new technologies, fostering collaborations, and providing a space for knowledge sharing.
The event is an important networking hub for key stakeholders such as healthcare professionals and medical practitioners, Government and policy makers, pharmaceutical and Biotech companies, as well as investors and entrepreneurs. It offers the opportunity to explore new business opportunities, discover the latest innovations, and collaborate on healthcare advancements.
Green Bioactives’ role at Arab Health
I attended Arab Health for two key reasons: 1 - to seek collaboration partners for GBL-Memory1 in the nutraceutical market, and 2 – to speak to companies interested in learning about Green Bioactives’ plant cell culture biomanufacturing platform.
During the event, we partnered with the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI), which meant I was able to host meetings on their exhibition stand, as well as showcase Green Bioactives’ products. It’s partnerships like these that help Green Bioactives have a stronger voice at global trade shows and we’re grateful to ABHI for the opportunity to share a space on the floor.
During the show, I met with people from across the GCC markets as well as UK-based businesses who already supply into these countries.
What were people interested in?
It was great to see that people were excited to learn more about GBL-Memory1. Not only were they interested in the history and science behind the development of the product, they were keen to hear about the commercial success Green Bioactives have already achieved in Europe.
I received lots of questions around the delivery format and how people could incorporate the GBL-Memory1 formulation into their own brand of products. It was also great to see that the concept of Plant Cell Culture Technology really grabbed the attention of relevant companies. The idea of producing specific molecules through biomanufacturing and doing so in a highly sustainable way was appealing and something people wanted to learn more about.
Overall, it was a great few days and I got to meet some fantastic people. Hopefully this is just the start of Green Bioactives presence in the GCC markets and I’m really excited about the opportunities ahead of us.
Coming up...
I’ll be on the move again in April when we exhibit at Supply Side Connect (formerly Supply Side East) in Secaucus, New Jersey. Get in touch if you’re attending and would like to arrange a conversation.
